We worked closely with the Agri-Women's Development Trust throughout 2010/12 to develop and deliver a two-day module within their highly successful year-long Escalator Programme. This programme has been developed to provide a pathway for rural women to grow their governance potential. The focus of our workshop has been on building the potential of these women to operate effectively in governance roles.
We designed, administered and facilitated the twelve-month EEO Trust Cross Company Mentoring Programme for Women. This programme was one component of the EEO Trust's ‘A Place at the Table' initiative developed to increase the number of women directors on the boards of large privately listed companies, State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) and other large private or public organisations in New Zealand. At the heart of this programme was the mentoring which involved matching of 10 women with experienced company directors. The mentors and mentees were provided with support, and the women also met together to build both their capability and their understanding of the governance opportunities in NZ.
We have worked behind the scenes with the NZ Institute of Directors to develop their twelve- month Mentoring for Diversity Programme. This included preparation of materials and briefing of mentors and mentees at the commencement of their relationship.
Dr Dale Nelson is highly skilled in this area of work having worked for 20 years in the UK in the area of improving effectiveness and capability in both the executive suite and the Boardroom.
