Karen specialises in strengthening teams and breaking down silos in organisations.  She works with team and individuals to develop their leadership, teamwork, communication (particularly story-telling) and change management skills.  She uses a number of different tools to facilitate this work, including the Team Management Profile, the Leadership Behaviours Profile, the Emotional & Social Intelligence Profile and 'Idea Navigator'.

During the last decade she has run 'train the trainer' programmes, action learning groups and skills development workshops, facilitated both small and large leadership forums and has more recently been heavily involved in designing and delivering a major leadership and change management programme.

Karen frequently gets positive feedback on her approach to facilitation, which is centred on creating a relaxed atmosphere while still challenging people's assumptions and mindsets.  She encourages discussion and the search for a better way of achieving desired goals.

Karen's working style is practical and focuses on humour and empathy in equal parts.  She places high value on providing the best service to her clients and being honest about what is most needed.

Karen's background prior to consulting was in the tertiary education sector, where she held a variety of positions from programme assessment, event project management, marketing and student coaching to administration team leadership.
