
Ava is passionate about assisting individuals and organisations make positive change. In her work as a coach, she partners clients to set and achieve their goals and build on their strengths. She enables clients to reflect on situations, change beliefs and behaviour that are no longer useful to them, and discover new ways to think and respond to situations. She is particularly skilled at enabling people to understand themselves and others better, resolve conflict and create effective relationships within their workplace. She has a special interest in coaching people new to management/leadership roles and middle managers.
Ava also facilitates focus groups and planning meetings and is available to mediate workplace disputes. She provides training in communication, leadership and disability. Ava uses techniques from solution-focused communication, appreciative inquiry, and NLP in her work. Clients value her warmth, insight and judgment, as well as her ability to de-bundle situations and events and enable people to see clearly processes and actions.
Her background includes establishing and managing a large student service at Victoria University (Disability Support Services) and work as a community social worker and counsellor.
